DTF Gang Sheet Builder.

A gang sheet is one length of transfer film carrying many unrelated designs, packed as tightly as they will go. Shops sell it by the length used. The hard part has never been printing it, it has been the hour spent nesting someone else's logos in Photoshop, and the emails about the one file that came in at 96 dpi.

Key Capabilities

• Background Removal: DTF needs transparency. Customers strip a white or messy background from an upload with one switch, no Photoshop and no round trip through your inbox. It is offered automatically on files that are not already transparent, and disabled on the ones that are, so nobody damages artwork that was already clean.
• Add Text: Customers type their text, pick from the fonts you allow, set the printed height, color and an optional outline. It goes onto the sheet as vector glyphs, not a rasterized image, so it has no resolution limit and prints sharp at any size.
• Graphics Gallery: Serve your own artwork from the graphics folders you choose. Customers pick a design instead of hunting for a file. SVG graphics stay vector all the way to the print file.
• Halftone: Screen a piece into printed dots at print resolution, with control over dot spacing, screen angle and tone. The screened bitmap on the canvas is exactly what goes into the print file, so what the customer approves is what presses.
• Keyline Outline: A contour that hugs the artwork silhouette, which is how a white outline for dark garments gets sold without a design round trip. Set the width and the color; the piece grows by the outline and the artwork keeps its printed size.
• Crop and Adjust: Rectangular or circular crop, brightness and contrast. A crop keeps the artwork print scale, so the piece shrinks by what was cut away rather than stretching fewer pixels over the old size. Art that passed your resolution floor still passes after editing, and every edit starts again from the original upload.
• Automated Quality Control (DPI Meter): Every raster piece shows its resolution at its current size, live. Below your floor it is flagged in the list, on the sheet and in the summary, with the largest size that would pass, so the customer fixes it instead of emailing you. You choose whether that warns or blocks checkout.
• Auto-nesting: Every change re-packs the sheet, rotating pieces to save film when you allow it, with the gap you need to cut transfers apart. The layout is validated on our servers before checkout, so a customer nudge can never push two pieces inside your cutting gap.

The first row is the one that pays for the rest

Gang sheets are billed by length, and length is bought in whole increments. A customer whose designs pack into 11.4 inches is paying for 12, and the last half inch of film is going in the bin empty. The builder shows them that empty space and tells them it is already paid for.

That is not a persuasion technique, it is just true, and it is the difference between a customer who orders what they came for and one who adds two more logos because the film is there. No competing app we looked at markets this.

What it costs, against the apps that do the same job

Every dedicated gang sheet app on the Shopify App Store charges a percentage of the sale. Print.App charges for the file it renders, which is the work actually performed.

The same month, two ways

Take a shop selling 500 gang sheets a month at an average of $30, which is $15,000 of gang sheet sales:

• On a 5% app: 5% of $15,000. $750.
• On Print.App: 100 files free, then 400 at $0.10. $40.

And at 100 sheets a month, a shop starting out pays $150 on a 5% app and nothing on Print.App, because 100 files a month are free. The percentage grows with the price you charge; our fee grows with the number of files you render, which is the only thing our servers actually do.

Two ways to sell it

• Gang sheet. The customer builds the sheet and pays for the film length used. This is the market's standard product and what most DTF shops sell.
• Transfers by size. The customer sets a print size and copy count per design and pays by print area with copy breaks. They never see a sheet, but the builder still packs one in the background, so your print file is ready without manual nesting.

Both are the same design with one setting changed, so you can run one product each way and see which your customers prefer.

What lands in your queue

• Page size: your film width by the billed length. A 13 inch sheet on 22 inch film is a 22 by 13 page.
• Output formats: print-ready PDF, or the same render as a 300 dpi PNG with alpha, which is what most RIPs take. Both are on the order.
• Background: transparent. Nothing prints where there is no piece.
• Pieces: every design is placed from the customer's original file at its nested position, size and rotation. The preview raster is never what prints, and mirrored pieces are mirrored.
• Text and SVG: vector, so they stay sharp at any size, outline included.
• Multiple sheets: an order past your maximum length has one page per sheet, named Sheet 1, Sheet 2 and so on, and the billable total is the sum across them.
• On the order line: the film width, the billed length and the sheet count, ready for your pricing and your production ticket.
