Customers personalising a product can click Save for Later in the editor. The design is linked to their Shopify customer account, appears in a My saved designs overview, and can be resumed or re-ordered from any browser or device.
  • Save for Later — saves the design and, for guests, asks them to log in or create an account. After logging in they return to the product page with their design attached and ready to resume.
  • Resume Design — reopens a saved design exactly where the customer stopped. Unfinished in-editor saves resume too, so nothing is lost between visits.
  • Duplicate Design for Re-order — every ordered design can be duplicated into a fresh copy, ready to tweak or order again. The original stays untouched, so the file from the past order remains exactly what was approved.
  • Designs a guest orders at checkout are attached to the customer record of the order automatically.

Enabling it

One switch, store-wide: in your Print.App settings, under Designer, turn on Enable Save for Later and save. Prefer rolling it out product by product? The same toggle exists per design, in each design’s settings — the store-wide switch simply enables it everywhere.

The customer account page

Where the My saved designs overview appears depends on which Shopify customer-account system your store uses.

Classic customer accounts

Nothing to do. The overview renders on your store’s /account page automatically — no theme edits.

New (hosted) customer accounts

Shopify’s new customer accounts are hosted by Shopify, so the page is added through their editor — a one-time step, no code:
  1. In your Shopify admin, go to Settings → Checkout.
  2. Next to Customer accounts, click Customize.
  3. In the editor, add the Print.App — My designs page. Shopify will offer to add it to the account menu, so it appears alongside Orders and Profile.
  4. Optionally, also add the Print.App card to the Profile page — a small teaser linking to the designs page.
  5. Save.
Your customers now see My designs in their account menu, with every saved and ordered design listed — previews included — on any device they log in from.
Not sure which account system your store uses? Open your store’s /account page: if the address changes to a shopify.com/… URL, you’re on new customer accounts and the editor step above applies.
